Main activities and responsibilitiesIn MG4U EMPA facilitates spreading of Marine Gen'Omics Knowledge to industry through - dedicated sessions at industry events (e.g. Biotechnica, Achema) - academia-industry face-to-face talks and - other initiatives, i.e. a think tank at BioMarine 2012. Within EuroMarine EMPA drafts a business plan for the operational structure of a future European marine science performing organisation. In Micro B3 EMPA is responsible for the maintenance of all project related communication, organisation and documentation of general assemblies and executive board meetings. We are also managing all training, outreach and dissemination activities, targeting marine scientists, government officials (in conjunction with an IPR-related work package) as well as setting up expert workshops with diverse industry representatives.
Further activitiesProduction of project-related materials, including - maintenance of a web portal and designing a film for MicroB3 - assistance with the Ocean Sampling Day planned for June 2014 - eliciting training needs in marine bioinformatics. Helping to set up training courses & workshops with and for industry, also within MG4U.
